We used to have two budgies, but they died just before we got our cat. Now we're wanting to get another couple of these awesome birds, but the cat... Will it cause problems or stress the birds if the cat is around all the time? Any suggestions of how to keep them seperate as well as possible? Should the cage be put high up? I heard that it should be about at the level of people's heads. But then the cat will get to it...
Advice!

Check out,

The bird's cage should be up high, at least to your shoulder height, preferably hanging from a bracket from the wall, not on a stand that the cat could knock over. Also away from any other furniture or curtains that the cat could climb to get nearer to the cage.

I have sucessfully mixed the two. The cat is going to be very interested. Make sure that no matter what the cage can't be turned over by the cat and open in any way. You may want to consider hanging the birds from a hook in the celing where the cat can't easily leap at the cage. It's doable!
