I'd loved to hear what you, my esteemed AP members, think of this project. The National Geographic is sponsoring; it's suppose to give you --- thru the use of your own DNA --- a picture of your deeper genealogy, the migratory group of peoples that you have originated from. For a price, they will send you a kit in which there is a swab that you stick in your mouth and send back to them and you not only find out your results but become a participant in NG's worldwide study. Here's the site that explains it a lot better.
I have to admit that I am mildly interested in trying this; the cost is the only thing that is stopping me right away.
So what do you think -- I'd really like to know and thanks, guys.

I have looked into this before, and if I had the money, I would do it. Then I could finalize the return of the Ancient Kingdom of Macedonia, which is my birthright.

I just remembered that on a National Geographic special, Search for the Scientific "Adam," the Genographic Project (GP) study, geneticist Spencer Wells confirms that Thomas Jefferson, third President of the USA, had Phoenician blood.

Sounds interesting, but I don't know if I'd trust it. Could be an experiment and I'd soon start looking like a little green man from Mars. Smile

What this about little green men, Honi? Where'd that come from?

Sounds interesting. Wouldn't the project be unbalanced though because it needs people to buy the kit?

Justin, the study is not to predict anything, but to ascertain facts in existence. My guess is that it is an open-ended study, and one of the few in which the expenses are met, by some extent, by the subjects. Being open-ended means that any "balance" wanted will eventaully work itself out.

Jusork, the little green men theory was kinda like a joke, but I'm serious about not wanting to participate in such a test.

You wouldn't know about the old tales that people used to tell where someone could put spells on you with things like spit, hair, a photo, blood etc...

For instance, one of the ole tales that I used to hear is that someone could take a strand of your hair, bury it, and it would put a spell on you.

Actually, it was a sort of humor.

Oh Kelleygirl, let me apologize before someone say I turned your thread into something that it's not meant to be.

This is a very interesting thread and I would really like to hear what others think about it.

Jusork, I don't actually believe in magic but I don't want to take any chances either. I'll stay neutral.
