I've heard that the Mormons are good for genealogical research. Why is that? And how would I go about contacting them if I want to find out about my family tree?

Yes they are, but to answer your question, they are required by there religion to trace their family tree.

For members with long family line in the Mormon church, this can be easily followed. But if you were to change to the Mormon church, you would have to start at the begining.

All information collected goes in to the Mormon archive and in to their date base.
