Will there be any real circuits or classic grand prixs left at this rate? First Belgium got axed, then Canada and now France. Although Canada and Belgium have been reinstated, Britain is also under threat, as was Australia for a brief time. All this to get grand prixs in Bahrain, China, Russia and Korea. Will there be any classic F1 races or true circuits be left? +++++++++++++ 12-10-03, 10:47 AM teeceeum All of the classic circuits are already gone. They've been thoroughly sanitized in the name of driver safety. Which is one of the primary reasons that F1 has turned into a parade instead of any meaningful passing on the track.
Bernie takes F1 where the money is. I'm afraid that is his only justification. That's the original reason he withdrew from Canada. The tobacco advertising ban threatened to cost Mr Eccelstone many millions. That Canadain and local government promised to make up those shortfalls, as I understand it. It's all about the Benjamins.
