Is there an effort to remove the excess rubber from the race track, after the race?

Good question, Edge! As a NASCAR fan I too would like to know; while my research turned up zip, I have sent the following e-mail to NASCAR administration, and will post the answer:

"One of the members of our question and answer website, www.answerpool.com, posed the question: What if any method is used to remove excess rubber from a track after a race? Since this is a worldwide site with several thousand members, many of whom are NASCAR fans, we would find the answer interesting. I can be e-mailed at AnswerPool.com and will post the answer. Thanks for your courtesy!"

Hopefully, AP will get some attention from NASCAR as well!

I can't speak for oval track, but on road couses they only thing that may get removed is what we refer to as "Tire Turds" These little balls on rubber that form as a tire "Crabs" sideways in the corners and rolls off some of the soft surface rubber.

If you get high in the corner and get in to the "Marbles", it's like driving on ball bearings. Say good by cause you're going for a ride.

All we do is blow or power sweep the track between session.
