I suppose someone ought to sound in about Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and his not-so-surprising announcement yesterday. Personally, I think he is the most over-rated driver on the circuit and his ego beats out his talent every time. I couldn’t care less about his woes or his choice of a new team, I just hope that now that he’s done it, all of the ridiculous hubbub will die down and perhaps we can hear about a drive other than Earnhardt, Jr. for a while.
On a side note, though, I’m thrilled he’s going to Hendrick. Maybe that’ll shut up all of those beer-throwing supposed-NASCAR-fan Jeff-Gordon-haters?

Elexina, I think that the popularity and "mystique" of Jr. will get lost now that he left DEI. I think a lot of his press was really a tribute to his father, and he has now gone out and has to prove himself without the shadow of his Dad; He certainly picked a good team to go to, but ironic that he made the announce ment just before Father's Day!
