Indy Cars. I'm not a big auto racing fan, but if I'm going to watch a race it might as well be the fastest things on 4 wheels, making Nascar seem rather pointless. And that's before taking into account the 'redneck factor'. With either type of racing the drivers are so well protected that crashes (usually) don't make it much of a blood sport.

Well I must be showing my ignorance -- sorry. Aren't the cars that race in the Indianapolis 500, and other races on that circuit, the fastest class of auto racers in organized competition? Surely they average higher speeds than Nascar vehicles, don't they? (Of course I'm excluding rocket-powered contraptions that set land speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats, some of which are 3-wheeled.)

OK, I guess I meant to say the fastest things on 4 wheels that can go around & around an oval track.
