Someone mentioned to me an article recently about how beauty isn't good enough anymore. One thing she said about the article that intrested me was that there were pictures of marilynn monroe and audrey hepurn and how if they lived in today's society what surgery they would have to have done in order to be considered beautiful. Does anyone know where I could find those pictures?

There is an article entitled "Why Pretty Isn't Pretty Enough Anymore" in the January 2004 issue of Glamour - does this ring a bell?

Apparently this picture of Audrey Hepburn appears in the article with the recommended procedures:

1. Arch with endoscopic brow-lift

2. Possible cheek implants

3. Refer for brow reshaping

4. Correct protruding ears

5. Narrow nostrils

6. Enhance center of lip with collagen

7. Tip rhinoplasty

Marilyn Monroe's suggested procedures were:

1. Breast augmentation with round implants

2. Lower face-lift to tighten jawline

3. Weight training for upper arms

4. Fat injections to nasolabial folds.

Thank you very much. That is the article I was refering too and was looking for. Makes me wonder if the beauties of today will still be beautiful in 30 years.

Although there are plenty of beautiful women in today's society, I think the classic beauty of Audrey and Marilyn should be used as a definition of what real beauty looks like and is.

Even Kate Winslett's thighs were lengthened once because the "real" ones weren't the right shape...

Mariah Carey also had her legs lengthened on the cover of her Butterfly (think that was the name of it)CD. And everyone by now should know that Julia Roberts did not pose for the "Pretty Woman" poster and video cover. It's her head on her body double's body.
