The topic in this section about Edward, Earl of Wessex, has reawakened a question to which I should know the answer, being English, but I don't.
Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, is first in the line, followed by Princes William and Henry, "Wills" and "Harry". However, if Charles should die before the present Queen, I think the line would have to be redrawn, with Andrew, Duke of York, as first in line, being the eldesst surviving son of the Monarch. Wills and Harry would move several places down the list.
Can anyone tell me if my thinking is correct?

Your thinking is incorrect Woody. The line of succession is, Charles, William then Henry. Should, God forbid, anything happen to Charles, William would be the next in line as the eldest surviving son, of The Queen's eldest son, if, God forbid again! Anything happened to both Charles and William, then Henry would become the next monarch for the same reason.

I'm far from an expert on the British Monarchy, but it would seem very odd to me if the line of succession was redrawn in the case of a death within it. That would indicate that it wasn't actually the line of succession to begin with, wouldn't it?
There is no re-drawing in the line of seccession in case of a death,,,If His Royal Hineeness Wally de Jerk, is 13 in line for succession, then #3 and #5 in line die, he just advances from #13 to #11...
