Coldfuse reminded us on Discussion Pool that on Saturday in 10,000 U.S. cities, mail carriers will collect non-perishable food placed near your mail box. This is a great program ;61 million pounds were collected last year. So let's help beat that amount this year and donate some cans or boxes of food for this year's effort, okay? Thanks! http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/05/06/food.drive.ap/index.html

Great suggestion, Kelleygirl, but where I live, we have to go to our green postal boxes to collect our mail... not sure how that could work. BUT in the more populated parts - it should work.
Great idea. I really like that! I'll look into it.

I seen a card about it in the mail the other day. I think my mom has did it a few times but most of the time we forget until we see bags of food by other people's mail boxes but by then our mail man has already came and gone...
