Hope I'm posting this in the right place. If I wanted to find out the history of a building, for instance what other things the building was used for. Or if someone died in there, how would I go about doing that?
Thanks!

The Registrar of Deeds would be able to tel you who's owned it during it's life. That could give you clues as to what it's been used for. As for any deaths there the only thing I can think of is to search newspaper archives. Don't know if you can do that online or not.
In my home town I used to go to the library and get out all the old Polk telephone directories. We had volumes going back to 1889, and almost every year was represented to the present date.
You can look up a building by its address and see what other businesses were occupying the building at the time.
(One building I looked up had several rented commercial spaces on the street level, one of which was rented out to a "Madam Ester"! )
