Is there a credit card application that can be filled out on the internet that's honest and legal?

Yes, you can apply for visa, master charge or discover on the internet, and it's probably safe. All you have to do is go to their website and fill out the form. I've known other people to do that, but I wouldn't prefer doing it on the internet.

I agree, it's best not to do that kind of thing on the internet. Get their 1-800 numbers off the website and then call them for an application.

If you see "https://" it's a secure site. When checking into a credit card, look to see if they have a protection program. Citibank does and Discover does. whenever you put your credit card # up to buy something online, the little program replaces it with a one-time-use number so no one ever sees your real CC number. Doesn't cost any more.
