Ok, this is gonna seem weird, but when ya can't sleep ya gotta think about something. Recently, i've been doing a puzzle i bought a couple of days ago, and when i couldn't sleep yesterday, i started wondering how they're made. Is there a big machine that cuts them into all those peices? And how do they decide how they should be cut? I got a really funny picture in my head of some guy hunched over a picture slowly cutting it into 500 pieces. (hehe ) I know this is a strange question, but if anyone knows how it's done, i'd be really interested to know. Thanks,
Kalena

Kalena, Ive actually been to a jigsaw factory years ago but I guess they still do it much the same. The picture is fixed onto the backing board and put under the cutter which looks exactly like the finished jigsaw. The cutter comes down and the puzzle made. There are different cutters for each of the jigsaw sizes etc
By the way I'm a jigsaw fanatic, there is always one on the go in our house, usually about 1500 pieces or larger.

Thanks, Jen. My mind is now at ease. I love puzzles too. Altough, it's been awhile since i've found one i like. The one i bought the other day is sooooo cute Do you know a good place to buy jigsaw puzzles? (I live in Canada, so we might have different stores.)
Kalena - This is the site where I buy all mine from. Its in Britain so there will be a postage charge to the Canada. They have a huge range from all manufacturers. You have to register but its a free site. Its called the jigsaw gallery. http://www.jigsaw-puzzles-online.co.uk
