What causes dryer lint? Is it little pieces of clothing that come off in the dryer? Is it just cotton or other materials? If this is true, would higher quality clothing produce less lint?

The air flow from the dryer is what causes lint, but lint 'is' the loose fibers, fuzz, and debris from clothes.

Ever wonder why sometimes the lint is a different composition, it's because the clothes are of various colors and of different types of material.
