I hope this is in the right place, if it isn't I apologize!

A few years ago, SeaWorld Aurora in Ohio was bought by Six Flags, and their Dolphin Cove exhibit was closed. Does anyone know where those original Dolphin Cove dolphins were taken? I can't find it for the life of me. Thanks!

A little help:

"On January 10, 2001, Victor G. Abbey, chairman and president of Busch Entertainment Corporation (BEC) announced the sale of SeaWorld Ohio to Six Flags Inc. The whales, dolphins, and penguins were moved to other Sea World parks, including Discovery Cove."

If you have an interest in captive dolphins, you might enjoy the captive dolphins and whales database.

Fuse, I would hope that the only interest any caring person would have in captive dolphins is to see them released if at all possible. Or if this isn't viable, then the poor animals to be housed in large, natural pools.

My reason for posting was that I grew up visiting those particular dolphins every day to the point that they recognized me at the viewing window, and so when they were in fact moved out of the park, I was concerned about where they went and I never did find out where they are.

And I agree with you, Karrow, cetacean rights are something I'm very passionate about and I've done a lot of work in that area.

I sent an e-mail to the sea world A-B Parks Comment Form asking
quote:
"I was wondering, which park where the dolphins from sea world ohio moved to?"

They responded saying,

quote:
Thank you for the message, and the dolphins were moved to SeaWorld San Diego and
SeaWorld San Antonio.

We hope this helps!

Sincerely,
