If the Bush/Cheney ticket wins the election, and Cheney steps down, will a replacement be appointed, or voted on, and by whom?

The 25th Amendment, specifically section 2, describes the procedure for selecting another Vice President should the position become vacant.

In reality, Cheney really looks tired and sick. I believe the stress of being Vice Prez is almost too much because of his health problems. Have you noticed the sick/tired look in his eyes? I was only thinking that he might step down for health reasons only.

There have been rumors of his health since before the 2000 election. And I know he's had some mild heart problems. The whole campaigning process has got to be stressful.
