I thought dreaming happened after awhile of sleeping, like 3/4 of the way through the night, because that's when you go into your period of deep sleep. But I've been going to sleep at various times for ten to fifteen minutes at the most and when I wake up, I remember dreaming vividly and completely asleep. So what's up?

I've dreamt within minutes of falling asleep most of my life. Of course, like you, I've been told that it can't happen. I guess I just dreamt that I did.

Maybe you're hallucinating. Wink

No, I too have dreamt like that. If it's impossible, then maybe we're all crazy.

Jusork, you may have a mild form of Narcolepsy

"In narcolepsy, the order and length of NREM and REM sleep periods are disturbed, with REM sleep occurring at sleep onset instead of after a period of NREM sleep."

We know dreams are associated with REM sleep, and with Narcolepsy, REM comes before non REM sleep.

"REM sleep can occur within about 90 minutes, but in those with a sleep onset REM period, it may be as little as 15-25 minutes. This is considered a sign of narcolepsy."

Interesting. I'm usually very non-sleepy during the day and lately haven't been falling asleep easily. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
