Truly inspired research -- privately funded, I hope. Were they listening to Radiohead while conducting their experiments? Note that the photo of all that impressive looking equipment shows only the spectrum analyzer actually hooked up.

You'd think they might have used a receiver implanted deep inside a mannikin head to measure the signal reaching the inner parts of our brains.

So all those voices in my head are coming from GPS satellites? Big Grin

So typical of scientists, in their quest for yet more knowledge, they forget the obvious. It's "Shiny side out makes a mind controller pout, Shiny side in lets them win."

Buy'em books, send'em to school, and what do you get? No common sense, that's what. Sheesh!

The results make sense to me. We used to put foil on the ends of the rabbit ear antenna on top of the tv to pull in those UHF channels. DUH!Of course foil amplifies signals! Roll Eyes

What self respecting scientist believes in mind control? This, from one of the best universities in the United States? Ugh. Roll Eyes

So I guess I am not the only one that noticed this
photo from the link.

From the conclusion of the test:
quote:
"We hope this report will encourage the paranoid community to develop improved helmet designs to avoid falling prey to these shortcomings"

Now, seeing where that researcher has rested his laptop computer he obviously has a smaller aluminum foil helmet strategically placed otherwise his “shortcomings” will be more than he anticipated Wink .

'Course on the other hand there were those folks who used to put aluminum foil on their bumpers to 'foil' the radar-based speed detectors the cops used.

Seems they remembered that in World War II bomber planes had dropped shredded metal foil, whole bagfuls of it, as they were approaching targets so that the defensive radar equipment would be 'foiled'.

And I understand truckers hang AOL disks and scratched regular CD disks (or their kids' disks that they hate) inside the cabs of their trucks for the same reason -- except they're not metal. Very shiny-reflective?

I suppose either they foil the radar and speed at will, or giggle a lot as a half dozen Hood Life and Money CD's rotate slowly on strings, and visualize their kids tearing their bedrooms apart looking for them.
