Jsews, I live in Eastern Washington, in farm country, and the same is happening here--not quite as warm, but the wheat is still growing. It has happened here before,if there is a bad freeze before a snowfall (if it snows, the wheat is insulated from the cold and no damage occurs), then the farmer can indeed lose the whole crop. In that case, they replant with spring wheat, which doesn't make as high a yield nor is as good a quality wheat, but certainly beats a total crop failure.
