Hello again everyone! I've thought of another question to ask you all, so here it is:

How many computers are in your household? Yes this does include non-functional ones, or ones you are building, repairing, upgrading, etc.
Personally , at this moment, including laptops, I have 14 lying around. Yes, thats a lot, and I hope to sell some this summer during a yard sale or two. Thanks for responding.

Nice humour, DvdGStwrt. Well, one computer is really enough. If you have one really good computer, then everything will be fine. Well, unless you have over 4 people wanting to use the computer at the same time, then it's a different story.

Kitty. I think that by now a "normal" household of two parents two kids would need at least 3 computers, one for the adults and one for each child.

I was slightly shocked to learn that a kid without a computer is less likely to succeed in school, it appears that the old pencil and paper are a thing of the past and wordprocessor, types and collated is in. Times change, the world moves on I guess.

I am a student myself and I do think children nowadays depend on using computer a bit too much. Well, using internet to research for school projects is fine, but when they are using a computer, it's more likely that they will use their computer for fun, like MSN or AIM.

I do have 3 main computers at home. I have lots of friends that only own one computer, but owning one computer didn't mean that they were doing a bad job in school. They can still use a computer, and they are still A's students. Owning less computer can be a good thing. It can mean that they spend less time on computer gaming, and more time on their studies.

One new Windows XP desktop I bought six weeks ago and one old (Windows 98) that's disassembled in a cardboard box with assorted screens, mouses(mice?) and keyboards that I saved in case something goes belly-up with this one.

1 Dell Dimension w/Windows XP Pro that I use for personal & college classes
1 Emachine w/Windows XP HE that my son uses for personal & H.S. classes
1 Gateway w/Windows ME
1 Gateway w/Windows 98 SE
The last 2 are in great working order; just not sufficient for our needs.
If I can lessen my mom's fear of computers (LOL), I was thinking of giving her the Windows ME to play with.
