Back in the mid-late fifties, Brooks Benton was popular on the juke boxes..
He made a record with a female vocalist that was really wild (well, back then anyway) Do not remember who the gal was, but she had one 'ell of a way singing the word Babbbbbbbbby..
Anyone have a clue ?

I'm pretty sure that's Dinah Washington, who sang with Benton on "A Rockin' Good Way" and "Baby (You've Got What It Takes)" in 1960 (according to AllMusic).

Hmmm. Do you remember any of the lyrics, other than the woman saying "baby"? That Benton/Washington song (beware the pop-ups) is relatively risque... I wish that was it.
If you have any more information, I'll try my darnedest to get a correct answer for you.

Seems to me that the line was something like: "and she calls me / or "what does she call me" Then you hear the hottest, sexiest
Bayeeeeeeeeeby....
It may not have been Benton...But don't remember who else it could have been...It was most definatly a black couple....

Love is Strange

Love, love is strange
Lot of people take it for a game
Once you get it
You'll never wanna quit
After you've had it
You're in an awful fix
Many people don't understand
They think loving is money in the hand
Your sweet loving is better than a kiss

MICKEY:
Silvia...

SILVIA:
Yes Mickey?

MICKEY:
How do you call your loverboy?

SILVIA:
Come 'ere loverboy!!

MICKEY:
And if he doesn't answer?

SILVIA:
Ohh loverboy!

MICKEY:
And if he STILL doesn't answer-

SILVIA:
I simply say
Baby,
Ohhh baby
My sweet baby
You're the one

TOGETHER:
Baby,
Ohhh baby
My sweet baby
You're the one

The song was an R & B Top 10 (One site has it at #12) hit in February and March of 1957. Mickey Baker, known as one of the guitarists to record with, and Sylvia Vanderpool (later Robinson) were the singers, and the song was composed by E. Smith and M. Baker in 1956, although another site gives credit to Bo Diddley. It is also possible that Bo's wife (Diddley's wife? Mrs. Diddley?) was given the credit to avoid a contract Bo had.

What is the world coming to? This is the second time I have agreed with Fritzzs. I must be coming down with something. But he is right. They don't sing'em like that anymore.

Oh, they're not gone. It's just most often a little under the radar.
