that I am going to share.
Ok, I am 53 years old now. Not young. I have many health issues going on, but...I have to say, that there is ONE thing that I did right years ago. When I was about 21 years old I went to a dermatologist. I remember him telling me about Eucerin Cream. I have a very dry skin condition.
I went out and bought this cream. Not the lotion but the tub of cream.
What ended up happening to me is that I ended up using this cream on my face. As soon as I get out of the shower, after drying off of course, while my skin is still moist, I dab spots of this cream on my face and rub it in. Every single day, for over 30 years now.
I started doing it, because after a shower, and after my skin dried, my face would feel tight. I didn't like that feeling. So it just became a habit. This is one habit that I can honestly say I am so glad I got into.
Considering that I am 53, and with all of my health issues, not to toot my own horn or anythihng but, I hardly have any wrinkles on my face! People tell me all the time that they think that I am so much younger than I actually am. I used to think they were just being nice, but when I look at a lot of other women my age, I really can see the difference.
So women! Or men too! I swear to you guys...go and buy some Eucerin Cream. Put it on your face right after a shower. Not need to go and buy all of those fancy, expensive things, this is the best thing you can buy.
Trust me...I know.

That's a pretty good tip, Lynnie. I checked out the ingredients, though, and it's got Methylchloroisothiazolinone in it. I don't know what that is, but I kind of have a deal with myself that I won't put anything on my face that I can't pronounce. Wink

I use a cream immediately after showering, too- the brand varies between Rachel Perry, Burt's Bees and good ol' Olay, but capturing that moisture right out of the shower does seem to be far more effective than my former practice of applying moisturizer when I'm doing my makeup.(My makeup looks better and wears longer, too)

Big Grin

Good job you never saw the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures for Children of a couple of years back. The lecturer asked the children whether they would eat anything with 'chemicals' in it. They were generally against so doing. He then showed them a list of chemicals with a whole lot of unpronounceable names. They were certain they'd not eat anything with those in ! " That's a pity", said he, " because those are ingredients of any carrot, put into chemist's language! Here's the whole list for the formula [he then showed a full list of unpronounceables, about a metre long] " Smile

I got curious and looked up Methylchloroisothiazolinone...
From the Wikipedia page
quote:
.....is a preservative with antibacterial and antifungal effects within the group of isothiazolinones. It is effective against...bacteria, yeast and fungi.

It is found in many water-based personal care products and cosmetics.[1] It is also used in glue production, detergents, paints, fuels and other industrial processes.....

There's a bit more, but that it is known, in high concentrations, to cause chemical burns is enough to make me think twice about products that use it.... I think I'll look more carefully for "preservative free", "Hypoallergenic" and "All Natural" in addition to the happy little rabbit that tells me the product was not tested on animals Smile
