I have skin tags right where my eye lashes are.. Do you know if there is a non surgical way of getting rid of them, or if not do you know if they can be harmful in anyway?

I'm going to once again refer you to a dermatalogist. Skin tags are usually harmless and can easily be snipped off at the base. But often times they are just left alone unless they are interfering with a function (such as seeing) or if they are rubbed raw by continual pressure from clothing (such as a bra strap).

And I've had them, and I hate to tell you that the two examples that Georgia gave are the only time that most insurance will pay for their removal; any others are considered cosmetic surgery. Mine were burnt off.

An interesting side note, skin tags are associated with diabetes or diabetic tendencies.

I did not know that Sher! I've known a few people who had these but they had no history of diabetes. Interesting side note, thanks for the info.

PCOS? Sorry but I'm not familiar with that abbreviation.

Georgia, I think PCOS stands for PolyCystic Ovarian Syndrome???? maybe?

I also have skin tags and PCOS. And yes they are part of the fun and games of the wonderful world of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. SIIIIGHS.

I've had a couple removed by freezing, that were on my face, and near my eye....but some of the others have met a more barbaric fate.

I don't know anything about that syndrome...but sorry you ladies have it. I hope it is not too dangerous a syndrome...

Actually, PCOS is a pain in the wazoo, Georgia. It messes with your monthly cycle, causes infertility, hirsiutism,totally whacks your metabolism which makes it very easy to gain and very hard to lose weight. Skin tags are probably the least of the fun and games of PCOS. Danger, I think, is probably on a one by one diagnosis. My gyn said that I was at greater risk for endometrial cancer. I was so happy to have my hysterectomy 14 years ago.

I wasn't diagnosed for 20 years. I thought I was the only one with these nameless problems. So I'm glad I can help someone else put a name to what's happening to them.
