This is a problem on my back and my doctor says she thinks it is eczema.

I'd appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks,
Gwen

Traditional treatment for eczema is steroid creams, but these often have side effects and are not ideal for long-term use.

One remedy for inflammatory skin conditions is witch hazel. With a cotton ball dab on the witch hazel to the afflicted area several times daily. Witch hazel will reduce the inflammation and promote healing.

Gwen, did JT's suggestion about witch hazel work? I have developed a small patch and may try this if you were successful with the treatment.

One of the big reason for eczema on the back is that people use hair conditioner in their hair and then rinse it out with it washing down their back.

I don't know if this is true in your case, but wash and condition your hair upside down.. that is standing and bending at the waist and letting your hair down in front of you.

Prevention works better than treatment.

Sherasi, I now do follow this piece of advice, and the problem is virtually solved...nice one, and thanks! Odd that all my life I have done exactly the same thing, but as my wife points out one's body changes in its behaviour for no apparent reason...cheers! Wink
