I have heard that liquid Mylanta takes the itch out of mosquito bites. Does anyone know if this method actually works?

Thanks for your help!

I haven't tried Mylanta, but I have had great success with this stuff called After Bite. It's amazing! It's available at any drugstore and comes in a pen-shaped dispenser. You rub it on the bite and the itch goes away immediately.

Thanks Cris for your recommendation. I have never heard of it, nor seen anything similiar to it here in Atlanta. But you can be assured that I am going to look for it! Being in the South I am always plagued with mosquito bites and the itch drives me crazy!

Thanks for your help, everyone.

I have used After Bite as well as a similar product called Skeeter Stick.

I have a little yarrow plant growing in a pot. When ever I get an itchy bug bite, I crush one of the feathery little leaves in my fingers and rub the pulp on the bite. Cheap, effective, an non-greasy.

It's even got the oh-so-picky step-daughter stamp of approval.

also known as 'Pak Fah Yeow'. You will almost certainly find this in any Chinese supplies store. It's a herbal alternative that works well for insect bites, headaches, stuffy noses (a bit like Vicks or Olbas Oil)
After Bite is really effective (a bit stinky!), but if you have sensitive skin, patch test it first before you put it all over. I find it irritates my skin.
