My mom has a lot of skin overlapping on her eyelids. The excess skin covers her eyelashes and the upper part of her eyes. She says she's too old for surgical removal. Does anyone know of an effective skin cream or something that would firm her skin some?

Thank you smile

Well, the bad news is that there is no cream that will help your mother...the good news is that if her eye sight is affected by this skin...some insurances will cover the procedure. It is worth checking out...

This kind of thing actually runs in my family...we are Finnish for the most part. Almost every woman on the Finnish side has had this problem as they aged, and with my very puffy upper eye-lids, I can see it coming.

My 74 yr old aunt has had an "eye-lift" twice in her life to get rid of the skin fold that just demands to be there!

Alot of it is hereditary....if it impedes vision, however, that's when it's time to get it fixed. It's not a difficult procedure. Best of luck to your mom!

Thank you Giz! Wow, your aunt had two skin lifts? Ahhhh me. Looks like I'm in for it, too, then. Stupit genes! lol

Maybe my mom will change her mind if her insurance picks up most of the cost. Thank you, again, Giz. big grin

My dad had this problem and he went to the dr. for it. It was apparantly a moisture deposite of some sort. They gave him a pill to take and it helped a lot. Maybe your mom could try the same thing.
