Underarm hair doesn't necessarily grow from one direction. I've always found it very successful (and never with razor burn), to shave very lightly first from bottom to top and then from side to side. Razor burn can occur not only from the hair folicles being "pulled" from a dull razor, but often people just put too much pressure on the stroke. Going over an area gently and from several different directions is generally a fix for this. Good luck Sarah!

I imagine that you are irritating the underarm skin by shaving too frequently. Slow down to once every two weeks. In the winter, when you are wearing long sleeves, you may want to simply carefully clip the underarm hairs with a scissor.

Have you tried replacing your razor? I used to have this problem, but the only way I could remedy it was to replace my blade every time i shaved my armpits. That got so expensive tho. I found something that keeps my blades sharp, and it works great! It's called the ecoRazo and it helps Reduce Razor Burn.

Exactly, Fred. These pyramid shaped structures use the earth's magnetic force to create negative ions in the surrounding atmosphere, which is then channeled into the platform of the ecoRazo.See! Magnetic forces AND Canadian technology. Need I say more?
