Is sun screen all it's cracked up to be? I read an article a couple of years ago that frightened me away from it, claiming that cancer rates for patients who used sun screen were actually higher than those who did not. The article also provided scientific (non-behavioral) reasons for this.

Is anybody aware of such information? I no longer have any idea where it came from. And should I be wearing sun screen? I don't ever burn and, a gift from both of my parents, don't easily wrinkle.

I have a Uncle that was in the sun a lot as a kid a now he has skin cancer. You need to use sunscreen no matter how easily you tan. Do you really want to have part of your ears removed when your in your 60's because of skin cancer. They make spray on kind that you don't even have to touch now. It works great my husband uses it because he don't like to touch the greasy lotion.
I just find it hard to beleive that sun tan lotion would make skin cancer happen.

What is the difference? ingredients. Sunscreen works by way of a chemical reaction..absorbing the sun's rays before you do...tey absorb them in the skin. Sunblocks are a physical block of the sun's rays by reflecting the sun like little mirrors off of the skin. Zinc is a physical block...it is what is also used around the world by countless mothers for diaper rash...if it is safe for a babies butt it is safe for you.
