Which hazle is not an exfoliant, it is an an astringent..astringents are used for several different reasons... to remove any residue of cleanser from the skin,to add moisture to the skin before the application of a moisturizer..this wil help your moisturizer work better, to kill bacteria (usually used for acne prone skin) and the most important is to return the skin to an acid state after cleansing and exfoliating...Our skin is at the pH of 4.4-5.5 on the pH scale...the acid mantle is disrupted during this process..(the acid mantle protects it from bacteria invasion, keeps our skin safe and at the natural state)water itself is a 7 on the pH scale...this is why an astrigent is needed for everyone! Anyway, lets move to your answer there are several things you could use...a papaya mask..the enzymes in papaya eat dead skin..try Zia..this can be found at the health food store......by the way, if your skin is this sensitive NEVER use a scrub..you will break down your capillaries...those little red veins in your skin...
