Posted Hi, I have been battling a skin rash for a year now. Yes I have an appointment with a dermatologist:) Its in the thigh area and under one breast. Its red and painful at times. Sometimes it is almost gone, then it comes back. Last time it got really bad was when I ate way too much chocolate with peanut butter. Does anyone else have this problem and know that it is due to Candida overgrowth? I will ask my dermatologist about candida when I go. Not sure if he is even aware of it. That is why I ask here. Posted Hide Post Yes, it could easily be Candida, or another fungal or bacterial overgrowth, the locations you describe certainly fit the pattern of Candida, as does the worsening of the rash following a sugar binge.... Chances are that your dermatologist will be aware of the possibility. The past few years have seen a remarkable surge in research and, naturally, an availability of information about these issues, so it's not dismissed from the diagnostic picture as commonly as it was not too long ago. If the doc does not bring it up, you should.
