You don't need heavy make-up to lessen the effect of dark circles. Try just enough concealer to cover the circles. If the concealer shows too much, just dab a little liquid make-up over it. Or some liquid make-up alone may be enough to hide the circles. (It gives a healthy glow to the bags under my eyes!  ) You don't even need to cover your whole face if you don't want - just be sure to blend whatever you use.

Here's a webpage that describes the different causes of dark circles and what treatment options you have. dark circles explainedIf you think that you are genetically hyperpigmented, the treatment options are: hydroquinone cream, laser/intense light treatments, or chemical peels. The page also discusses cover-up creams. They are better at hiding discolorations than "regular" makeup...maybe a light application of one of those would be all you'd need.
