My eye glasses (usually wear contacts) all of a sudden started breaking out my face. It gets really red, itchy and almost like welts on it and looks awful! What would be causing this problem, any ideas?

If you are wearing a metal frame, you may very well have developed an intolerance for the metal. It is not unheard of to also get an intolerance to the silcon pads on eyeglasses. It would be a good idea to see your optician or whoever sold you your frames to discuss what may be going wrong.

If possible, until you see your optician, you may want to coat the metal with clear nail polish. I know that may be tricky if the frames are thin; but it's something to think about.

If you usually wear contacts, it's probably that you're just not used to having something touching in your face where your glasses sit. Kinda like wearing a new ring for the first time. Still see your optician just to make sure you don't have an allergy to the metal.
