Has anyone ever been in a bad spot and just happened to have the exact "thing" or assistance needed to help you get out of a pretty bad jam or a bad situation?

Sagus and I did. About 10 years ago, Sagus' father died so we got on a plane and headed to Oregon from Pennsylvania. His parents lived in Gold Beach on the bottom of the state, and the plane dropped us off in Portland, about 8 hours drive to Gold Beach.

We headed down the main highway center of the state intending to cut across to Coosbay and continue the rest of the journey south on Highway 101. Well, only a day or two before we had this trip, a major Hurricane had done extensive damage dropping trees and causing a lot of terrain damage. We hadn't realized this occurred, so here we were, driving in the middle of the night through the isolated State Parks in the middle of the state, steep mountain to our right, deep ravine to our left (with no guide rails) on a one lane road.

At that time, we ran across a tree (the very top brances but enough we could NOT drive over at all) that was blocking the road. Here we were, 2am, pouring down rain, on a one lane road, 2 hours into the State Forrest. What do we do? Turn around and drive back all that way and try another route or what?

You won't believe it, but I had on me my car keys and on my car keys was a Swiss Army knive with a wood saw. Now a days we would not have gotten through the airports with it, but I used that darn wood saw and sawed off the top branches of that tree (it took about 45 minutes) and we were able to drive through the rest of the way without any further mishap.

Sagus laughs at me, but my keys saved our butt.

I was 7 months along and very uncomfortable. My husband had finished college and we were going to Seattle to find a job. We decided to visit our friends in Oregon. When we got there, they were packing up to move to Seattle. We all headed out together. It was late in October and cold and rainy. That evening because we were all broke, we planned on spending the night in tent or cheap motel. We got out along the coast somewhere and got lost, the rain was coming down in buckets, every motel we passed was "No Vacancy". It was so late in the year that all the State Parks were closed for the season. I was tired, the other couples three kids were tired and ornery. We stopped to find out where we were on the map we had. A policeman drove up next to us and asked us if we needed any help. We told him of our predicament. He immediately called dispatch and they tried to find a motel with a vacancy. There was nothing in whole area. The policemen asked us if we were open to camping out. We said that would be fine as long as we could get off the road but all the camping areas were closed. Would you believe that they opened up a State Park and let us camp on a beach there?????? There we were. Just the two families all by ourselves on the beach.

1995 ,had a "black moon " following me.Lost everything I had,my family(separation with a 4 year old child),all the money , house ,you name it!I was so down !Finally the end of that stupid year came on.On Christmas Eve , me and my "new " girlfriend went out celebrating and on the way back home, the engine of my "Caravan" blew out . We came back with a cab at 3;00 am.! A couple days later I got myself a used 1988 Cavalier , just to be able to move around, finally on 01-01 1996, I went to the convenient store to get the paper.AHHH a new year at last.On my way out , I had a flat tire !(45 #$%^ seconds)in the new year. While I was looking at it , a guy(stranger) came to see me and said , "hey let me help you!"(I 'll never forget). He repaired my flat tire with a "kit" he had , and blew the tire with a (yes) compressor he carried in his truck! And left wishing me "Happy new year"I wiped out a tear, and 3 months later while playing "bingo"in a indian reservation won $13,000, cash! What kind of planet is this???

About 2 years ago, my husband and kids convinced me to buy a computer. I didn't even know how to turn one on. I hated this darn thing. My husband is adopted and never had a good life. I told him that I would search for his birth mom when I figured out how to use it. He always wanted to know, but never thought it would happen. After about 3 weeks, I got in touch with a woman who was born in the same hospital he was. She was also searching and gave me a name of an angel that might help. The angel did not have much hope but would try. It turns out that his 90 year old grandmother still has the same PO Box for the past 65 years. Needless to say, she forwared the information to her daughter. HAPPY REUNION after 40 years. What is really weird is that Mom and son both lived in Jacksonville in the 1980's. Both are lefties, have the same sense of humor, love of woodworking and could finish each other sentences. We visit Grandma often, she only lives about 40 miles away. Mom and son see each other about 4 times a year and talk weekly. It may have taken 40 years, but the bond between them is unbelievable. This is what I call divine intervention!!!

This sort of thing has happened to me so often I couldn't begin to describe all the times, and it still happens, much too often to be coincidence or "good luck." I know where my "luck" comes from. PGFWABF!

A few years ago, I started to date a fellow who was an avid atheist. I am a Christian, and as you can imagine, this caused some fundamental problems with our budding relationship. He was such an adamant atheist and constantly argued the bible with me. (Needless to say, he annoyed me and I dumped him quickly.)

The point, however, was that he had dropped me off at the airport to catch a flight, and of course, had been arguing some passage of the bible with me. He told me that there was no God and that I had no purpose in life other than to live as I wished.

As I flew to Phoenix, I was angry and I contemplated the conversation. I prayed to God and asked for a sign that would reinforce my faith. Basically, I asked God to show me that I was a worthwhile and needed soul in this world.

I got off the plane and walked out to the taxi area. I reached a several lane road that circled the airport arrival area -- the light was green for pedestrians to cross over to the center island to catch a cab. There was one other woman crossing the street with me. As we started to cross, for some reason, I stopped half-way and looked to my left to be sure there were no cars coming. Quicker than I can recall, I saw a speeding van approaching that had no intention to stop. The woman next to me didn't see the van coming and continued to cross the intersection. I screamed "stop" and grabbed the back of her hair and pulled her back to the ground. She looked at me like I was attacking her, and at that moment the van screamed past us, running the red light. She realized that I pulled her away from the speeding vehicle. We both got up, unhurt, and walked over to the taxi cab island where she hugged me and started to cry.

I believe that was God's sign to me reinforcing my faith that I am needed and have a purpose in this world just like everyone else.
