hello,

does anyone believe the book is real and that it has evil powers? i checked the harvard library via the net, and they had it listed in one of their many libraries. i also read somewhere there are a couple of copies left, and that's all.

what are your thoughts???

Okay, all I know about the book is this:

Maybe not, but he had some strange methods. Not that my methods are without their strangeness, but he is just... Whoa. I would've liked to have found out what religion he practiced.

I have read the Necronomicon cover to cover and the Mad Arab (the author of record) was certainly that.
The trouble with the Necronomicon is that it's incomplete. No one can be sure it's been translated accurately or completely and the religion he practiced is eons old. It is, in large part, incomprehensible and useless in modern times.
Whether or not the magic works, I could not tell you, but I can tell you this: be very careful with what you practice. You must fully research and study and understand your craft before trying to use it. This proves very difficult with the Necronomicon.
Also, the gods and demons and beings mentioned in the Necronomicon are also eons old. It is likely that -if they ever existed- they have long since faded away and would not heed any calls, if they ever did.
