DorianGreyed's post prompted me to start this thread.

His house eats books. Razz

My home eats the kitchen flatware and my hair brushes.

What does your home eat?

Pens, cheap reading glasses, socks ( I've tried to buy socks in singles or threes, not pairs, in the hope of confusing the system but the retailers haven't got around to that yet), any reference book which I need this minute (I occasionally stumble upon a cache of identical dictionaries: they must be running off to mate in dark corners ), remote controls for the TV etc....

What a novel idea with the socks!

What fun it must be, with playful pens, fast glasses, runaway socks, romantic dictionaries, and mischievous remote controls! Wink

My keys used to wander off, along with my pens. (I suspect they secretly met and frequented their favorite hide-away resort, "The Dish & the Spoon".) I finally solved it, though, by making myself put the keys in one place only, and pens in their respective spots, only.

If only now I could find out where my hair brushes and flatware go...

Ahh... catnip.. It has digested into the bowels of the basement. It's a good thing. Otherwise you'd have to hide your cat, phone, and drill. Eek

Our house has peculiar tastes.. pocket knives, watches, socks, spoons, books, pens and note pads. Roll Eyes

Fred, novel idea about trying to buy socks in various pairing combinations. Too bad the companies don't make them that way. Big Grin

We both buy socks in batches of several pairs, all one color. A little boring, like most sensible ideas. Our house eats reading glasses and the remote for the living-room CD player. But it regurgitates the latter.

Our household eats lightbulb holders and bulbs, all blowing about the same time Frown
Socks going walkabout... I have to buy every few weeks Never wear the second or 3rd pair of any pack I buy! Roll Eyes Rarely get them in the laundry

Pens given up buying them (to lose or break) Instead get a handful from the Bookies or anywhere with complimentry pens to grab
Batteries for the lights on 2 push bikes. That's a minimum of 2 packs of 6 batteries per week.
Books and Software also disappear into thin air
I had some games stored for last Xmas yet I could only locate 1 Frown...I swear I had them altogether in the same bag (from the same shop) All brought on the same day! Roll Eyes Weird! Mad
This Topic should be on DP as well? Smile

It eats anything that I need for a trip. For example I have a particular t-shirt that I always wear camping. Everytime I am going camping I have to do a full blown search for that shirt. I am especially aggravated because I'm going camping this week and I'm trying to find it. It's absolutely critical that I find it but I know it's hidden somewhere very clever.

Another example, whenever I go skiing, I can't seem to find one or more of my necessary ski items - goggles, sun glasses, neck gator.

My house eats anything that's crucial for the DIY job in hand that was put down for just ten minutes. In the most recent case (thirty minutes ago) it swallowed a battery powered drill - a pretty big item - from the kitchen. It then regurgitated it in a laundry basket in the bathroom.

This happens a lot when my boyfriend is doing jobs round the house. Can't figure out if it's poltergeist activity or his unconscious mind wanting to duck out of the job!!

My house loves to eat my checkbook, lighters and the coffee lids for cups.
