The vibrational Tendencies of crystals is known. 'Crystal Sets' (radios) relied on the quartz crystal which resonates.
Since the Human Soul (energy field) is considered a vibrational energy, then it makes sense that a crystal places within that field would have some affect on the human energy field in one way or another.
I feel that the determination of which crystal does what is a bit off, but I do hold that 'crystal power' is a real thing, one that does require more research and should be looked into.
I also feel that humanity is by and large, energy beings, we know that brain waves are electro-chemical in nature, we also know that 'life' puts off a weak field of energy.
How crystals may relate to this may simply be unknown at this time. but there is no reason to say that the whole concept should be thrown out if the science behind it is lacking. It just needs further research and real testing. It also may require that we look more closely at other methods of healing, such as acupressure and acupuncture - these have been reported to have very real results.
All in all humans are complex creatures with a very powerful tool at their disposal, the human brain.
Though we have mapped the human brain, we are hard pressed to answer fully just how does it work. In time all things will be revealed, and I am willing to place bets that todays crystal healing is going to be tomorrows science.

Considered by whom? Certainly not legitimate physicians and other scientists. The term "energy" is generally misunderstood and therefore misused. Science does not regard energy as something that exists as an aura or that can be transferred from one person to another as though one would pour water from one glass to another. The scientific application for the term is used in definitions regarding work loads, motion and other purely physical effects. Anything else is just wishful thinking. You may be correct when you say that crystal healing may be tomorrow's science, but as of now there is nothing that would indicate this through the scientific method which would include measurable results, repeatability and falsifiable hypotheses. Believing in something that fails rational scrutiny and scientific analysis just because a bunch of people would LIKE to believe it is, well...dumb. The scientific community is not conspiring to rain on the pedestrian sentimentalist's parade; it has better things to do. The chance that something might be true someday without anything other than wishful thinking and general truisms to justify specious, anti-intellectual assumptions is not proof. Physicist Paul Davies wrote that it may not be possible to calculate the effect of the gravitational pull of the planet Jupiter on an automobile driving along the highway, but Jupiter must have some influence on us or we wouldn't be aware of it at all. While this is certainly a true statement, a mature, rational, critical thinking person would not use it to justify astrology. [This message was edited by XaurreauX on 06-01-03 at 12:33 AM.]

good points, but i was just stating that just because we dont know for sure that crystals cant have an influence on anything, dosent mean that someday we wont find out they are more than just rocks. even if they are proven to be the all wonderful super healing item of ever, i would still prefer to use modern medicine if i needed an operation, or had a broken bone, or a serious illness. but hey, if they make you feel better, use them. nothing wrong with feeling better, even if we are tricking ourselves into feeling that way. i know a few new agers, and they swear up and down that crystals can cure everything from acne to kidney stones. of course these same people are as close to being anorexic as you can be while still eating, because in almost every food they can find some book somewhere that says theres seomthing wrong wiith it. i use crystals with feng shui, dosent seem to hurt anything. if they are affecting something, good for them, and good for me for using them, if they are just rocks, then hey, i have nice decorations that people make comments about.

Well, then the issue isn't the efficacy of crystals but the fact that they are objects upon which to focus, ergo one can obtain the same results from focusing on nails. quote:

Agreed, as long as it's not in place of using legitimate medical remedies or in deluding one's self that something is safe when it isn't.
