I know it's a trick, but can anyone tell me how this is done? Let me know.

I don't know exactly how it's done, but I can tell you for certain that your computer is NOT reading your mind. It's just math and probability. David Copperfield does the same thing on TV with cards.

The answer is always a multiple of nine. Try it with numbers of more digits. Again, always a multiple of nine. So put the snowflake beside all the multiples of nine and voila!

Kendor is right. Since every number will be a multiple of 9, all the multiples of 9 have the same symbol. When you refresh to try again, all the symbols change which gives the illusion of mystery.

You have to choose the symbol for the number you end up with. This is the number you end up with after you add the 2 numbers together and subtract that amount from your original number. (which is going to end up being a multiple of nine) All the other symbols are filler. So your number can only be
9 18 27 36 45 54 63 72 81 which all have the same symbol.


Ok.. if your wondering.. yeah I just NOW figured it out.

all right, ok, just more proof that my math skills really, really suck.
used a calculator, and it worked fine.
