anyone have a suggestion of what crystal to give to someone who is heading into the hospital for some pretty serious treatment and surgery. I want to give her one to take with her that may give her encouragement.

Turquoise is a stone traditionally associated with healing, especially fusing things back together, such as broken bones, scars etc. Amber is good also, I know not a gemstone stricitly speaking, but very useful. If she is nervous and panicky about going to th hosptial, you might add a heamatite to keep her relaxed and grounded in reality.

for your response.
Unfortunately it's more than broken bones and such. It's Uterian Cancer and there is a possibility that it has spread. Yes - she is VERY nervous but trying to deal with this with humor which is hard for everyone else cause nobody wants to make jokes about it!

Does that change your suggestion at all?
I definitely agree on the hemiotite..
I've also been reiking her and gave her a herkimer.

I am sorry about your friend. My father had colon cancer last year and for a while it was touch-and-go too. It is good that she keeps her spirits up by joking, but I understand it can be difficult for you and her other friends to react appropriately to that.

I still feel that stones I recommended would be appropriate, but considering the fact that it is cancer of the womb, a moonstone might be good too, this is a very female stone and associated with helping any female ailments. Reiki is definitly a good idea. Taking arnica (the herb) would also help her imune system, she can start taking this now and should continue for at least a month after the operation.

You might also want to ask a similar question in the Alternative Health forum- it won't replace conventional medicine but might help with symptoms and the healing process.
