BROOKERS Bronze Enthusiast	Posted PRO STIGMATA CON STIGMATA Recently I saw the film Stigmata and although I throughly enjoyed it, it did leave me wondering. There has been dozens of cases reported over hundreds of years of people suffering 'The Stigmata'. I was wondering what you all consider it is. Self inflicted, paranormal infliction, psychosomatic, truly the work of God.

Posted Hide Post I believe its Muchausens disease - the person wishes to be ill so badly (for attention, sympathy, other personal gain) that they create illness or conditions. In this case, the person wishes to be Christlike and worshiped, or to become Christ, to the point of creating the stigmata. I would have to say the stigmata are almost always, if not always, caused by the person themselves and something sharp.

OK, answer this: why do you never run into anyone who has been healed at Lourdes, suffered stigmata, is a true psychic (and proves it); can actually show you a ghost? And why haven't I, or anyone I know, ever seen a UFO, Bigfoot, rods or anything else you see on TV? Catty: (who doesn't trust film of any kind)
