Why will there be no traditional mass held for St. Patrick on St. Patrick's Day this year ?

When was the last time this happened ?

It falls in Holy Week this year. Last time was 1940. A normal Mass will be celebrated.
This has all caused fun and games in Ireland.

However, some things are more sacred and fixed than others: The Irish Championship Dog Show will be on St Patrick's Day, as it is every year ! Big Grin
