The Holy prophet (peace be upon him) told Khalid bin Walid that if Khalid possessed a mountain of gold and spent in the way of God, he still could not attain the status of his (earlier) companions.

Which companion was the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) refering to when he said the above to Khalid bin Walid.

(Khaild bin Walid at that time had even received the title of 'sword of Allah').

The answer is right. This time i did not put the exact quote so that it would be difficult to find, but you still found it. Well done.

"Leave my Companions alone, O Khalid! If you possessed a mountain of gold and spent it in the way of Allah, you would not achieve the status of my Companions."

Entire story is here:

Abdur Rahman bin auf is also one of the blessed 10 companions.

Of the 6 people chosen by Caliph Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), only 2 showed willingness to be the caliph. They were Ali & Usman.

Abdur Rehman (one of the original 6 people) became the chairman sort of figure and consulted took votes/opinions from all other people in finally making his conclusion as to who would be the successor of Umar.

May Allah bless all the blessed 10 companions.

well, you only need to give a source (as the author) if none were given ( by the responder). If your source brings on something new, then it's different.
