OK, guys..I love some of these famous lines from athletes, i.e. Joe Willie Namath:
"I can't wait until tomorrow because I get better looking every day"..

or Dick (Don't Call Me Richie) Allen:

If cows can't eat it, I ain't playing on it"

I'd like to know some of your favorite pearls of wisdom from athletes--current or former..Thanks.

Here are a few of the highlights
of Reggie White's speech before
the Wisconsin legislature:

"The United States has gotten away from God, (in part) by allowing homosexuality to run rampant."

"Whites enslaved blacks because their skin color made them stand out in white society. Whites could not enslave American Indians because they knew the territory, and the Indians knew how to sneak up on people."

"You (white) guys do a good job of building businesses and things of that nature, and you know how to tap into money pretty much better than a lot of people around the world."

"Hispanics are gifted in family structure. You can see a Hispanic person, and they can put 20, 30 people in one home."

"Asians are very gifted in creativity and invention. If you go to Japan or any Asian country, they can turn a television into a watch."

Let's just be glad--and HOPE-- that Reggie is not/WONT be a MEMBER of any legislature anytime soon...I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Mr. White is NOT a Rhodes Scholar....

Jim Bouton in "Ball Four" on the ineptness of his 1969 team, the Seattle Pilots:

We were winning the second game 4-0 in the eighth when Fred Talbot, who had a beautiful three-hitter going, got tired. He came out with a runner on base and none out. Disaster set in promptly. First (Pilots manager) Joe Schultz used Locker. Then O'Donoghue, then Segui. Everybody in the Minnesota lineup got a hit. Rod Carew, just off the bus after coming back from his weekend in the army, ran into the stadium, threw on his uniform and, with his fly still unbuttoned, got a hit. I swear they pulled an usher out of the stands and he got a hit. We lost 5-4.

Just wanted to share a site I found:
Baseball Quote of the Day.

Here's one from Jorge Posada, speaking about Orlando Hernandez. This may explain why El Duque was boxing Jorge's ears in the dugout not too long ago!

"He pitches better when he's mad, so I try to make him that way."
