High-definition television (HDTV) is coming to Canada earlier than expected.

I'm something of a luddite. Computers is as high as I want to go. So I will resist anything that would make me need to upgrade TV.

If, as it is rumored, by next year all the stations will switch to HDTV broadcasting, will us Flintstones still be able to receive TV transmissions on our old (non-DHTV) sets?

Yes, non-HDTV's can still receive an HD signal. It seems to be a better signal actually so everyone should benefit.

(I just got an HDTV last week and it's very nice babthrower. I watch a lot of nature shows now because it's absolutely amazing to see. There are a lot of PBS specials on the National Parks and underwater Jean-Michel Cousteau specials that are absolutely breath taking. It's a whole different thing - really. I don't think I'm watching more television, I'm watching television differently and in a better way.)
