Hi again all, I have here a Dell Dimension 8100 series, with a 1.2 Ghz processor, 60 gig hd, 256 mb ram, and Win ME of course. There are about 80 virus infected files in the following location: C:\_Restore\Temp . I cannot delete these files, nor can I remove them to the virus vault. I keep getting messages saying the files are in use, cannot move or delete them, and this is while in Safe mode too. Now, System Restore has Restore points available at all, so I cant do that, nor can I delete them. This computer was sold to a friend of mine by a college student in need of money, and there were no recovery disks included, therefore total recovery is not possible. This pc has a DVD drive, and CDRW, so I need the programs to run these drives that are on here. Of course, I tried to burn copies of these programs to disk so I could reinstall ME from my disk, but the program would not, possibly because of the viruses? Any ideas on how to get rid of the viruses would be greatly appreciated.

Problem solved, but the solution was I had to ENABLE System Restore, (it was already disabled), then use the "Heal" option in AVG to get rid of them. Weird huh? I had tried all kinds of things, this was the only thing that worked. Thanks Murray!
