A Trojan is not a virus. AVG is an ANTI Virus program. Therefore AVG will not detect a trojan

Go to this page, and download 'Hijack This!'.

Create a folder on the C: drive called C:\HJT.
You can do this by going to My Computer (Windows key+e) then double click on C: then right click and select New then Folder and name it HJT.
Unzip HijackThis into this folder. When you run HijackThis from this folder and have it "Fixed checked" it will create a backup file of modifications to use if restore is necessary.

Launch Hijack This, then press Scan, and press Save Log

This will generate a text file that will list all running processes, all applications that are loaded automatically when you start Windows, and more.

open that file
Go to Edit | Select all
Now click Edit | copy to copy it

Do not change anything just yet
Come back to the forum, Right Click and paste its contents here

I have AVG as my anti virus, and at times when someone brings a computer to me with viruses on it, I put the hard drive in as a slave in my main computer to scan it for viruses. Recently I had one with 30 total viruses on it! Alot of them were Trojans, and AVG found them. I support it totally for both viruses and Trojans. When I had Norton AV 2002 on this computer and scanned that same hard drive, it found a total of 19 viruses and Trojans, which is why I switched to AVG. Alot of different people think AVG is a very good system, alot dont, I guess it depends on the person, LOL.
