I downloaded a program called Mighty Max (who knows why?) and now I can't get rid of it. Change/Remove programs will only let me change it. The thing pops up every once in a while with a loud alarm that freaks me every time.

What's the best way to get rid of this monster?

What sort of program is it Catty? And do you still have the address where you got it from?

Looks like the same thing, though I didn't get it from there.

Thanks, bedstor, as usual.

You'll find a lot of similar programs syndicated through many 3rd party addresses
Most are "Come On"(try me)Demos to you purchasing the product and most are useless despite the claims,and some are trouble (as it seems this is)Mad
Are you on XP now? You cannot do yourself any harm by downloading M$'s own antispyware program
This coupled with SpywareBlaster should keep a lot of nasties away
And they are both free Cool
Spywareblaster= www.Javacoolsoftware.com
Microsoft antispyware program=
www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
In the meantime I'll see if there is an uninstall program for this that works Confused
I have a feeling you are going to have to make up a Hijackthis log and submit it to another forum to be scrutinized and on their answer delete the troublesome items and the program will be erased Wink

The 2nd option is to find where is the file loaded to on your hard drive and delete the folder leaves traces but they are removed over time.
Another option is to do a System restore if the program is shown on the System restore calendar? Roll Eyes
If this is so take it back to the date before and the program will be forgotten OK Wink (takes about 20 minutes to do)

Thank you, bedstor dear. I'm sure one of those methods will get me out of my present problem.
