You are so right; we just had it! Microsoft customer support idenitfied on our computer as "avserve.exe". Once we deleted this and added the new Microsoft patch, things seem to be "okay".

P.S. If you find that you have "avserve.exe", delete it and go to www.microsoft.com . They have a huge banner on their site re the Sasser worm and give you several steps to follow to first block the worm and then protect yourself from getting it.

"Disapproval still reigns supreme. But for a country increasingly dubbed the sick man of Europe, where growth is sluggish, unemployment doggedly high and technological skills in short supply, the arrests of both the Sasser creator and another young virus author at the weekend have stirred up a curious sense of pride."

I don't know about anyone else, but it hit our company big time, and we were down for over a day and a half. This virus must have been pretty bad, needless to say our employees were not happy about this situation. When the pc's are down, we have to watch the clock and try and find other work, which can make for a very long day. It really surprises me that the punishment isn't set higher for people who create these things.
