My friend's PC keeps freezing up and I believe it could be related to the recent viral attacks. How can I found out for sure and where can I get a fix for it?

If you don't find a fix for the problem with the link provided above, please post again with your friends computer details (Operating System, Internet Explorer version, exact symptoms, etc.) and we'll try to provide some assistance.

This page may be helpful in gathering the detailed information we'll need:

in common with many others, of course. I had the RPC worm. I downloaded and installed the patch.

However, I wondered if anyone else had a similar problem to me, in that, since I've done so my system has become very sluggish around twenty minutes after I connect to the net. I normally have IE open at the same time as my Outlook - I run Windows XP Professional.
Any advice and I'd be grateful, otherwise I constantly have to system restarts.

I do not proclaim to know much about my computer I have to say, so if you can, please keep it simple.
