A few times a day I have a message that pops onto my screen saying, "Cannot find 'file:///C:/Windows/dl.html'" When I click on OK (the only option), it connects to the internet. It is not only annoying but I am afraid it is some sort of virus - although I've done a complete virus scan with Norton's many times. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It is likely this page is the result of a some type of "Spyware" on your system. On my home page, I have a section devoted to Spyware and several good (and free) removal tools. You can visit the site by Clicking here. On the top left of the page, click the "Spyware" link. I suggest you start by clicking the last link in the Spyware section and checking your browser for some common infections.

I hope you will find this helpful!

Try running this tiny program only 128K Big Grin
www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
Its called Coolwebshredder it will scan and clear your computer of this worm (Which has many different file names Confused) all of which hijack your Homepage Mad
And its very common,(overrides Spywareblaster Mad)
I contracted it a few weeks ago.I found this program on a UK forum ran it, and It restored my computer back to running order Razz Only thing you'll have to do is go into Internet options to restore the Home page This program resets it as a Blank page OK?
Will indicate if it has found anything Smile
Home page for the above program maker
www.merijn.org has more info plus more programs and Worm removers to try out. including Hijack This! is used by many people to spot Trojans hiding on their computers Mad Works like Ad-Aware but only produces a long scanned file list Smile
