I entered a contest and when i hit enter this came up "you are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure, the info you are sending to the current site might be transmitted to a non secure site." What does this mean.
Thanks

They crop up in all sorts of places
A secure link has a closed padlock (in the bottom right corner (if working in Internet Explorer) and when entering the details the web address changes to HTTPS://
And reverts back to HTTP:// (and an open padlock) on an unsecure link
The reason for the vague message is to cover the possibility the security certificate/s may be out of date?
But they are updated anyway if you do upgrade Windows off the Microsoft site often (and from other sources)
So no need to fret OK? Wink
BTW The message is proof your security is working correctly in this area Smile
